Alouisa is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also an active member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Nevada Advanced Practice Nurses Association.
Alouisa began her nursing journey in 2007, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Australian Catholic University in Sydney, Australia. She then completed additional training in international health and advocacy in Cologne, Germany and Hon-Atsugi, Japan. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2018, followed by her Doctor of Nursing Practice – Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Touro University, California in 2021.
Alouisa brings a rich, multi-faceted background to her practice, with extensive experience reflecting her deep commitment to holistic, patient-centered care across diverse settings. She has previously worked in various medical settings as a Registered Nurse and as an Advanced Practice Provider specializing in primary and urgent care, focusing on the comprehensive care of adults and geriatrics. She manages a wide array of acute and chronic illnesses, emphasizing preventive medicine, and evidence-based care. She takes pride in creating personalized treatment plans for the individual needs of each patient. She is dedicated to finding ways to bridge the gap in health disparities and addressing the challenges that patients may face in implementing their plan of care. Her doctoral research at Stanford Hospital and Clinics focused on promoting health literacy, patient safety, and efficient delivery of care. She also currently takes part in international missions in Asia and Central America, particularly in women’s health. Her academic interests include nutrition, community health, and access to health care for the underserved and cross-cultural wellness.
Alouisa’s care philosophy is grounded in active listening, empathy, respect, cultural competence, and inclusivity. She strives to ensure her patients feel empowered, well informed, and supported in every aspect of their health journey. In the ever-evolving healthcare landscape, she believes in staying current with research and healthcare advancements, while also nurturing her patients’ engagement in their own well-being through preventive care and comprehensive treatment plans.
Beyond medicine, Alouisa finds joy in arts and the great outdoors as well as spending quality time with family and friends.
